Pal Dental Arts, Inc., or PDAI, was founded in 1992 and is owned by Pat and his wife, Tricia Lacy. Pat Lacy has been in the Dental Lab Field since 1976. He graduated from Dental Tech Institute in Orange, California, and then began working for his father, Merton S. Lacy, DDS MS in Palmdale, California. Soon he branched out and established his first Dental Lab there in 1981 where he worked closely with Dr. John Shanley, USC professor in Dentistry. Tricia Lacy has been involved with the business side of PDAI since 1981, and did not become a Dental tech until "retiring" from her Nursing career in 1990. Since that first Dental Lab, the business has grown and changed over the years, keeping pace with the change and progress of the Dental Field.

Pat Lacy:
"When I was attending college, undecided as to a career, my father offered to teach me the Dental Lab field 'until I figured out what I wanted to do with my life'. Guess I'm still trying to figure that out!
"Seriously, though, as an owner/operator, The Dental Lab field has given me satisfaction with a career that provides creativity along with a great business. It gave me the ability to work at home while my children were young.
"It is also a mobile field - I've lived and worked in California and Washington. But Phoenix is my home. And now, with the onset of Digital Dentistry, I'm enjoying learning and growing along with the industry. The evolving world of digital dentistry is exciting and challenging.
"During my free time I do a little gardening, and I'm very much involved with my local church."
Tricia Lacy:
"My husband would come home from work talking about wax-ups and casting, stacking and contouring. I would listen and nod, and pay close attention, (although I'm sure my eyes glazed over now and then) but I had no clue what Pat was talking about!
"After our two boys started school, Pat needed help with model work at his Dental Lab, and that's where I got my start. You could say I've had very personalized instructions, it's always nice to learn from the boss!
"I discovered a whole new world, an industry I never knew existed. Waxing full contour crowns, fills a creative side of me - every tooth is different. And now, you can do it all with a click of the mouse!
"During my free time, I enjoy reading, playing the piano, puzzles, and spending time with my husband - away from work!"
